The person who kept pulling the same two decks out of the drawer.

I learned spades the way most of us did: at the kitchen table, after dinner, with people who took the game seriously and the trash talk more seriously. For fifteen years it was the same two decks out of the same drawer, replaced from the gas station whenever they wore out. Card Table is the deck I always wished those nights had. Heavyweight stock that survives a slam. Two decks in every pack, because nobody plays spades with one. Backs that still look good after fifty hands. I build it for the table I grew up at, and the one you did too. Pull up a chair. The table is set.
